Come hear about the exciting space research being done in areas like bone research and reducing the environmental impact of the oil industry. About
the Speaker
Nicole Buckley joined the Canadian Space Agency in January 2002 as Program Scientist for Space Life Sciences. She was the CSA's scientific research coordinator for two Canadian projects flown on space shuttle missions, including Columbia's tragic STS-107 mission in 2003. She was named Director of Life and Physical Sciences in July, 2004. Since then, she has been involved in over 10 space missions. Before joining the CSA, Dr. Buckley conducted research in oral microbiology in Quebec City, in San Antonio, Texas, and in Winnipeg where she obtained her Doctorate in Philosophy from the University of Manitoba. |
